About Little Bevan
At Little Bevan we believe children play an essential part in the major steps of our lives. It's wonderful to involve children in these family events giving them their first special memories and clothes to cherish and keep in the family. The part we like to play is to help you to make them look their best. Totally dedicated to children of all ages, we produce beautifully styled special occasion clothes.
In 2004, after her years at Amanda Wakeley couture and bridal, our designer Sarah Colfer launched her brand Little Bevan - 'mini luxe' for children, to focus on this niche. Sarah's natural eye for style and her creative ability were encouraged by her talented mother, who made her own Dior-look gown for a romantic 1950's wedding abroad, and after whom Little Bevan is named.
We have a bubbly, creative team, experienced in art, fashion design and children! With a traditional base in English design, we love the fresh appeal of 'proper' clothes for children but with a cheeky twist. The clothes are inspired by the luxury and swagger of the fashions of the 18th century but brought up to date with a light touch and made suitable for children in fabric and finish. Discussing your needs is an important part of our service - we can research ideas and source fabrics for the designs.
From its beginnings, Little Bevan has steadily built its reputation for producing enchanting and exquisite garments, establishing a unique position as a London couturier for children.
Little Bevan launched at the National Wedding Show in October 2004. Since then, we have shown every year at this, and at London's Designer Wedding Show. Our children's couture boutique and workshop opened in October 2007 in Pimlico, London. We were delighted to be a national finalist in the Wrapit wedding industry awards 2008, which recognised our achievements so far, in creating clothes to treasure that children love to wear.
